San Francisco, August 1, 2024:  Shartsis Friese is pleased to announce the addition of Ivo Keller as the newest Partner in our Litigation Department. Mr. Keller brings a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of real estate-related litigation and bankruptcy law to our firm.

Since 2006, Mr. Keller has built an impressive portfolio of expertise, handling a wide range of high-stakes litigation and complex bankruptcy cases. His adeptness at navigating the intricacies of real estate law—ranging from environmental challenges and eminent domain proceedings to boundary disputes and HOA governance—set him apart as a leader in the field. In addition, Mr. Keller has earned a national reputation for his work representing creditors in bankruptcy proceedings, demonstrating a particular proficiency in landlord-tenant issues under the U.S. Bankruptcy Code.

Mr. Keller’s leadership extends beyond his legal practice. As a prominent figure in the San Francisco legal community, he has held pivotal roles including president of several professional organizations and chair of a statewide bankruptcy conference. His extensive contributions reflect his commitment to advancing the legal profession and providing invaluable counsel to clients and colleagues alike.

“Ivo is a talented litigator with deep experience in real estate, bankruptcy, land use and environmental matters,” said Shartsis Friese managing partner Neil Koren. “He’s a great fit with our premier real estate practice, which serves clients and projects around the U.S. We are very pleased to welcome him to the firm.”

“The Shartsis real estate and litigation groups are known and respected nationwide,” said Keller. “I’m excited to join the team and help leverage the great strengths of the practice.”

In addition to his professional achievements, Mr. Keller is noted for his pro bono work, including advocacy for holocaust survivors and support for local debate programs. His linguistic skills in German and his extensive involvement in community service underscore his dedication to both legal excellence and social responsibility.

Mr. Keller received his Juris Doctor from the University of California College of Law in San Francisco (formerly known as UC Hastings) and received his B.A. at the University of California – Berkeley.
